Bosh headed to South Beach? It very well could happen this summer

By Anthony Caruso III

Chris Bosh has been the face of the franchise for the Toronto Raptors for the past several years. Even when Vince Carter was a member of the team, Bosh was still the face of the franchise. Carter was going through problems with the front office at that time.

But there are rumors that the Raptors may trade their star power forward/center this summer. One rumor that continues to gain steam has Bosh headed to South Beach. If the trade is made, it would move Bosh closer to his Texas home.

According to the rumor, Bosh would head to Miami for Michael Beasley — last year’s No. 2 overall pick, Udonis Haslem, and either Dorell Wright, Daequan Cook, or Chris Quinn to make the salaries work. If the trade is made, it would be the second trade between the two teams in the past several months.

Miami sent Shawn Marion North of the Border back in February for Jermaine O’Neal, who recently exercised his option for next season to stay with the HEAT. Also, Miami would have the No. 4 and No. 5 picks from the 2003 draft to build the team around. But they are both free agents in the summer of 2010 if contract extensions cannot be worked out.
