Jerry Sloan will return to coach the Jazz next season

By Anthony Caruso III

Jerry Sloan is expected to return to the sidelines next season as the Utah Jazz's head coach. He has previously agreed to terms for the upcoming 2009-10 season in January 2009. But he was still thinking about if he wanted to return or not.

This will be his 22nd overall season as the Jazz's head coach. In 2001, Sloan became the longest tenured head coach in American major sports when former Twins manager Tom Kelly retired. Sloan is the only coach in NBA history with 1,000 wins with one team.

Only Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, a European football team, has coached longer than Sloan with one team. He has been the Manchester United coach for the past 23 seasons.
